Being Battle Ready!

God wants us to sharpen our swords
so they are not blunt from battles
we’ve fought before.
They need to be forged in the fire
to be ready for battle like never before
starting by slaying sin
with God’s double-edged sword
in our own lives first and foremost
and continue to
fight fears
and principalities and powers
when we are tempted to fight people
remembering that our battle
is not against flesh and blood.
We cannot cease from conflict,
confrontation seems continuous
even if we deem ourselves to be non-confrontational
we don’t have the luxury now to stand back
we need to take up the Sword of the Spirit
which is the Word of God

withstanding as well as standing!

This specific Sword [Word] is all we need
to overcome every enemy
Jesus is our banner in battle
Shout it out!
‘Freedom!’ is our battle cry!

‘Come!’
Christ as our Captain, already victorious
is now calling us to be courageous conquerors!
not wounded warriors or worriers.

“Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory and brilliance of the LORD rises upon you.
See, darkness covers the earth
and thick deep darkness is over the peoples,
but the LORD rises upon you
and His glory appears over you
and His glory and brilliance will be seen on you.”

It’s our time to shine!

The Scriptures below inspired me when writing this poem.

Scriptures and References

Isaiah 60 vs 1-2
Hebrews 4 vs 12 — “For the Word of God is alive and active and exerts power [making it operative, energizing and effective] and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of the soul and spirit, and of the joints and their marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet!”
It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts.
