Food for Thought

While driving to my daughter and granddaughter’s home
early this morning,
I saw a boy running across the road in the rain!
Then my eye caught a lady on the right side of the road!
She had no umbrella or any other covering
-no shoes on her feet
but in her hands she held
her son’s lunch.
He’d obviously forgotten his lunch
in the rush of getting ready!
I smiled at the situation when she handed over his lunch to him
but all I could see in this scenario
was a mother’s heart for her son…

I remembered another lunch,
another mother lovingly packed for her son,
written in the pages of Scripture…
The Father’s Heart felt compassion for the crowd
of hungry men, women and children
and His Son miraculously multiplied
five loaves and two fishes to feed a multitude
with lots of left-overs !

There are times where no words need to be spoken
to speak a message of love to us.

More than food can be wrapped up in a little boy’s lunch.
