Completed on the Cross
Completed on the Cross
…for I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith.
As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.
What stood out to me in this Scripture is …
Firstly
that this Good News about Christ’s
death and resurrection
is the power of God at work
saving EVERYONE who believes
-everyone is included.
The Gospel of the Good News is
all inclusive;
no one is excluded.
Secondly,
that it is God Who
makes us right in His sight,
not our own works or efforts.
Thirdly,
that this is accomplished
from START TO FINISH BY FAITH!
-not faith in faith
but faith in the finished work
of Jesus Christ on the cross;
when he cried out
‘it is finished’
it was finished.
In reality, ALL that is required of us
is to follow Him
and
just like when we lift Him up,
He does the drawing of men unto Himself,
when we follow Him
He says that He WILL MAKE US
fishers of men.
In actual fact,
He made it so easy and effortless for us
He did the ‘work’ on the cross
and He continues to do the drawing of men
and the making of us into fishers of men
by telling us where to throw out our nets for a catch
when we think that the 'fish' have disappeared from sight
He opens our eyes to see
that the fields are ripe and ready for harvest …
As we follow Him
we discover His kindness and love
and
as we lift Him up high in our hearts
and lives
we need to keep remembering
that it is His kindness
that leads us to repentance.
