Truth Triumphs

Jesus
sees my struggles
as I wrestle with wrongs done to me
sees me struggling to stand
on the promises that He placed on my path…
Tears have stained the pathway of my past
scarred the pavements where I walked many miles and years
as light leaked out of my eyes
falling on the footpath lighting the way
where my path was punctured with pain
but truth triumphs over all the lies that attempted to lure me
into walking that way again.

I refuse to reverse or rehearse
the sorrows that stung the skin of my soul.
