Enlightenment

After being plastered up with pretence
eventually cracks creak through the veneer
exposing
deep wounds
and when we put a plaster on our pain
healing doesn’t happen.
Deep surgery is required
and much like after having an operation,
professional instructions need to be followed
in the recovery time that follows
for surgery to be a success…
The surgeons do their part
and we do our part
partnering with them
much like we partner with God
doing the best we can do
and leaving the rest up to Him to do what only He can do
while we rest in His trustworthiness
that He will do what He said He would
for healing to happen in our hearts.
