I cry for this seemingly forsaken Country
where violence storms full speed ahead!
So many murdered
culled for no valid reason…

The cruelty of these crimes
has cut down and crippled the lives of children
as their innocent eyes watched
atrocities
that should never have been witnessed.

Then the drought deepened…
The heavens teasing the earth
but as God’s people humbled themselves and prayed
the heaven’s opened
teardrops and raindrops
merged into a merciful miracle
washing the weary world with fresh hope
soaking the soil with softness…

Even replenishing the thirsty roots
of the people who have been uprooted.
