The Circle of Seasons

I'm so grateful to God
that He seals the door of my soul as such
to keep it safe in the storm
much like He sealed the door of the Ark
keeping those inside safe and secure…
This reassures me on days
when it seems that a stressful season of struggle stretches
on and on
appearing endless;
the length of the shadow way too long,
in my opinion,
that Heavenly Father, You are the One
Who decides when winter will give way to spring
followed by summer's sunshine again…
so I open the window of my heart
and send a dove out each and every morning
waiting expectantly for when it will return
with an olive leaf in its beak
bringing me fresh green hope.
At the proper time.
