Alone

My Jesus
When You cried out those words …
“My God, my God
why hast Thou forsaken me”
for a moment
did You
feel forsaken
because Your heart was overtaken by such sorrow?

Yet somehow
deep within knew that You weren’t?
That Our Father
was still in control
but You just
for that brief moment in time
couldn’t see
how such utter defeat
could ever
lead to victory?

Did You doubt
-surely not
You who knew all things
yet felt abandoned?

Strangely enough this gives me hope.
