Triumphant!

The world watched
as televisions in township taverns tuned in
and
waited with expectation
as green and gold gathered…
-pouring out on social media
seeping into streets,
shopping centres,
lounge rooms and bedrooms...
-prayers prayed publicly and in private
until the green grass of home
was transformed into a gold cup
and
echoing 1995's nail-biting performance,
a nation united in joyous jubilation!
- singing songs of victory
sweeping across the seas!

We acknowledge
that the strength of the Springboks was supernatural
against the mighty lion
and give God the glory
for the victory
that this nation needed
just like in 1995
where streets came to a standstill
as a mighty roar reached the Heavens!

May the drought's back be broken
as South Africa is rebuilt based on the Bible
barriers broken between people
creating unity
where God commands His blessing.
