Uninterrupted Rest

At times
Abba speaks to our spirits
illuminating adjustments
that need to be made in our lives
when our hearts become unhitched
from our Anchor
because we believe untruths
and we need to break the lies off of our lives
that it is necessary to be busy
and not take a break …

Jesus often times
sought a secluded spot;
retreating to secure rest
for Himself and His disciples...

Doing what Jesus did
is necessary
-to recuperate our strength
-to restore to us where our stores
have become depleted
for our cup to be filled to overflowing
so we can splash Scriptures
onto and into others
investing
again

but to be filled
we have to guard our time against
unnecessary interruptions
that suck out our strength
emptying out our emotional tanks
so that we don’t fulfill our God-given destinies.

It is important to step back on occasion
and re-evaluate our lives
remembering that
questioning is not quitting…

God is so good and gracious
at clicking dislocations back into place
so that our lives line up with the life
He purposed for all people.

I personally need to trust Holy Spirit to help me
in this regard
as I tend to be a 'Martha' rather than a 'Mary'
even though I long to sit at His feet...

The feet that brought freedom
to all of humanity...

Luke 10 vs 38-42
“38 As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. 39 Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. 40 But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.”

41 But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! 42 There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”
