Words and Poetry By Brenda Botha, Inspired by God.
Honor
Today,
we commemorate the courage of the men and women
who fought for our freedom
War Time Photograph
As I look into his deep eyes
I’m penetrated by an intense gaze ….
left wondering what he was thinking
The Real Reality
There are pauses on the journey of life
when everything is effortless and easy
but one has to hold onto your smile
when the road gets rough!
Uninterrupted Rest
At times
Abba speaks to our spirits
illuminating adjustments
that need to be made in our lives
Really Resting
After all these years of living,
I still haven’t quite managed to master the art of relaxing
very well…
Restorative
Restoration happens
when we realise
we require rest…
Not Allowing Crowds to Crowd my Thinking
The crowd told these men to keep quiet. Imagine if they had listened and kept quiet?
Food for Thought
While driving to my daughter and granddaughter’s home
early this morning,
I saw a boy running across the road in the rain!
Missed Moments
can’t
‘unfeel’ feelings
that have been felt…

About
Brenda has always loved ‘playing with words’, sees writing as a gift from God, and can trace her passion from as early as primary. Writing in both English and Afrikaans she explores the plethora of emotion afforded to each language with finesse and sometimes even grit.
She has self published her own book, Everyday Crosses, and has been published in magazines, blogs, various church news letters and more recently had one her poems turned into a song, a life long dream.
Her Facebook page has a collection of personal contemplations inspired from her faith in Jesus Christ, including short stories capturing her grandchildren’s formation and life lessons growing up.
