Words and Poetry By Brenda Botha, Inspired by God.
The Warmth of Wood
Jesus
was a carpenter’s son
and
I am a carpenter’s daughter…
The Greatest Test of All
Lord,
how do we know how much
we have learned to love
unless we are tested
and we see our score…..
What does Bravery look like?
Remembering a Marvelous Man
I can still smell sawdust stuck on his sunburned skin;
see a light layer on his clothes
– a cinnamon caster-sugar coating
Missing My Oumatjie
I wish I could go back in time for one more day
Picture the Pain
Picture the pain
as Jesus was chosen to be crucified
instead of a murderer
Not Chosen
Jesus
They didn’t call Your Name.
Didn’t choose You.
Chosen
every one of us in this world wants to be CHOSEN…
Betrayal
Jesus,
how did you feel when your ‘friend’ betrayed You?

About
Brenda has always loved ‘playing with words’, sees writing as a gift from God, and can trace her passion from as early as primary. Writing in both English and Afrikaans she explores the plethora of emotion afforded to each language with finesse and sometimes even grit.
She has self published her own book, Everyday Crosses, and has been published in magazines, blogs, various church news letters and more recently had one her poems turned into a song, a life long dream.
Her Facebook page has a collection of personal contemplations inspired from her faith in Jesus Christ, including short stories capturing her grandchildren’s formation and life lessons growing up.
